Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) sometimes known as Cold Laser or Photo-biomodulation (PBM) is a low intensity light therapy. The photochemical effect triggers biochemical changes within cells. The result yields a reduction of inflammation, pain relief and accelerated tissue regeneration (healing). LLLT treatment stimulates mitochondria producing vasodilation, increasing and improving blood flow.

LLLT treatment can aid in the healing of both acute and chronic muscle pain as well as healing of surgical sites and wounds.

Cold Laser Therapy
LLLT Treatment, is performed in minutes, is provided in our clinic. Most patients do not literally “feel” the treatment, yet some feel a slight warming sensation. In some circumstances, fast acting pain relief can occur within minutes of application along with the reduction of muscle spasms. More often, in the medium term, a reduction of inflammation will occur within hours to days.

Conditions and circumstances most amenable to LLLT treatment can be; acute orthopedic conditions such as sprains, strains, post-surgical pain, whiplash injury, muscular back pain, cervical or lumbar radiculopathy, tendinitis and chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, frozen shoulder, neck and back pain, epicondylitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinopathy, fibromyalgia, plantar fasciitis, post tibial fracture surgery and chronic regional pain syndrome, open wounds and surgical sites.
